Principal’s Message
We would like to thank the families who attended the parent/teacher conferences. Teachers appreciate the time to talk with parents to share the great things they see in the classroom. We would also like to thank all the families who supported the book fair. Funds raised from the book sale will be used to purchase new books for our school. We had many students come out and ride on our school float for the Santa Clause Parade. We were all happy that the weather was so much better than last year.
December will be a busy time around Huron Park. We hope to see many families out for the Family Craft Night. We have spirit days planned along with candy cane sales. We also plan to have some fun announcement games as well.
Family Craft Night
All families are invited to Craft Night on December 10 from 5-7 pm. We hope you will join us to for a night out with your family.
Candy Cane Sales
Candy canes will be sold for 25 cents beginning December 8. Students will be able to purchase candy canes and have them sent to their friends. Sales will take place between December 8-12.
Holiday Celebration Week
Huron Park has a week of Spirit days planned for December 15-19.
Monday December 15: Festive hat day/head band day
Tuesday December 16: Lip Sync Day
Wednesday December 17: Festive Sweater Day
Thursday December 18: Festive Colours Day (wear red, green etc)
Friday December 19: Comfy Clothes Day
Food Drive
The holidays are a time of giving and sharing, and Huron Park certainly achieved this through their participation in the Toy and Food Drive. Students and their families were shining examples of compassion, empathy, and strong community awareness.
The Georgian Bay Food Network picked up Huron Park’s generous donations of 800 items! The Gr. 6/7’s had fun carrying and loading the boxes into the van.
Thank you to all the students, staff, and community for working together to make this project such a great success. Working as a team is the ultimate goal, and our school went above and beyond.
Book Fair
our book fair was very successful thanks to the support of our Huron Park families. We were able to purchase over $2500 in free books for all of the students at Huron Park to enjoy.
Battle of the Books
We're excited to kick off this year’s Battle of the Books team at Huron Park! Battle of the Books is a fun, friendly reading competition where students read a selection of books and work together to answer trivia questions. It promotes teamwork, a love of reading, and helps students build confidence as they prepare for our big competition in the spring. Our team is now forming, and new members are always welcome—whether you’re an avid reader or just looking to try something new! Students who join will have regular meetings, opportunities to read a variety of engaging titles, and plenty of time to practice their trivia skills. Please listen to announcements or see Ms. Douglas or Ms. Dionne for more information.
Welcome
We would like to welcome Pancake, a Sweet Charity Canine Ambassador, to Huron Park!
Pancake is an 8 year old Shih Tzu and will be in the office Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with Mrs. McGarrity.
Girls Basketball
Congratulations to the intermediate girls bball on an excellent season with immense growth, team development and heart. Keep shooting hoops! It was a joy to be able to develop two teams this year and amazing to see such strides in both teams.

Boys Basketball
Try outs for int boys bball will be held during the school days at Nutrition/recess breaks the week of December 8-12. All students interested are to come to an initial meeting Dec 5th to receive a letter of interest and form to be signed and returned before the start of the try outs.
